NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2: Explain the role of the nurse leaders in implementing innovative care models. Explain how innovative modes of care affect collaboration between advanced registered nurses and other stakeholders in the industry
Nurse-led innovation is key to promoting evidence-based patient care. The clinical nurse leader (CNL) practice may vary depending on the practice environment. Still, the outcome is to lead to cost-effectiveness, provide high-quality patient care practice, and maintain a healthy work environment for staff or stakeholders. (Van Orne & Branson, 2022).NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2
The nurse leader’s role in implementing innovative care models should include staff engagement, evidence-based practice, clinical leadership involvement, and clinical outcome.
According to Van Orne and Branson (2022), during the Covid-19 pandemic, clinical nurse leaders were tasked to provide a safe work environment for staff and promote a positive outcome for patients; the innovative CNL Practice Model was able to guide CNL practice during a pandemic.
The CNL supports staff engagement which they can hold the meeting for nurses, advanced registered nurses, and other stakeholders in the unit to discuss concerns like staff and equipment shortages, immature nursing practice policy, newly hired nurses training, creating unit-based staff recognition programs and sharing current health care news and data. Another way the nurse leaders can do this is by attending daily charge nurse reports and daily interdisciplinary huddles, which are physically present in the care and affect collaboration between an advanced registered nurse and other stakeholders. Using this model to participate in evidence-based practice, generate evidence, and promote a safe environment for staff validated the relevancy of the model and the CNL. (Van Orne & Branson, 2022).

I agree with you that nurse-led innovation is key to promoting evidence-based patient care. The clinical nurse leader (CNL) plays an important role in leading innovation. Creating a suitable environment for implementing innovation is a primary role of nurse leaders. Therefore, CNL works together with other healthcare workers to support innovation (Currie & Spyridonidis, 2019).
Maintaining a healthy work environment for staff or stakeholders create favorable environment for innovation. Therefore, nurse leaders should engage their staff and other stakeholders in addressing different healthcare issues. Nursing leadership’s proximity towards staff members improve individual and organizational performances. Nurse leaders can inspire and motivate healthcare workers. NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2
The inspiration and motivation may in turn support the implementation of innovative care models. Clinical nurse leaders are answerable to different stakeholders. As a result, CNL should be close to nurses and patients to obtain accurate health information (Asurakkody & Shin, 2018). The information is important in guiding the innovation process. Attending daily charge nurse reports and daily interdisciplinary huddles affect collaboration between an advanced registered nurse and other stakeholders.

According to (Wienand, et al; 2015), the clinical nurse leader role has been defined as a nurse who is a confident clinician, a leader within a microsystem, and a quality manager. Using the clinical nurse leader to implement the innovative care model as a clinical decision-maker and active member of the interdisciplinary team helps make the design and direction of cost-effective, evidence-based care within a microsystem (Wienand, et al; 2015).
As nurse leaders, they can improve care coordination, patient outcome, patient satisfaction, and interdisciplinary relationships. Nurse leaders have more skills than registered nurses at the bedside as they have combined bedside experience and leadership skills to focus on patient and family-centered care. process of innovation coordinated by an interdisciplinary team utilizing the latest evidence-based practices. NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2
Nurse leaders can act as educators and educate patients, families, and team members. When implementing innovative care models, it is necessary to communicate with team members and leaders in different units to enhance positive communication and get innovative ideas and suggestions from team members.NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2
Incorporating those ideas will enhance the successful implementation of innovative care models and improve collaboration between advanced registered nurses and other stakeholders.

LIGITHA, clinical nurse leaders (CNLs) are seen as quality managers and confident clinicians. Therefore, CNLs are mandated with important duties in leading the implementation of innovative care models. Healthcare facilities assume that nurse leaders are competent and experienced enough to lead innovation (Weintraub & McKee, 2019). NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2
Therefore, nurse leaders are expected to guide healthcare workers and providers towards attaining the desired organizational goals. Using the clinical nurse leader to implement the innovative care model as a clinical decision-maker and active member of the interdisciplinary team helps make the design and direction of cost-effective, evidence-based care within a microsystem.
CNLs are experienced with innovative care models. Similarly, these nurse leaders understand the importance of innovation in healthcare (Bryant et al., 2020). Healthcare is ever-changing field. Therefore, innovation ensures that healthcare facilities remain resourceful in providing quality healthcare services regardless of dynamics. NUR 514 Topic 5 DQ 2
Nurse leaders can act as educators and educate patients, families, and team members. Thus, healthcare organizations make sure that they have right nursing leadership.

Nurse leaders in health care organizations are expected to influence the quality and outcome improvements by designing and implementing new and modern care delivery models (Snow, 2019). In today’s dynamic health care system, the nurse leader is important in introducing design thinking. This is the link between various bodies of knowledge aimed at inspiring and igniting creativity and innovation (Snow, 2019). Therefore, inspiring creativity in the workplace is a major role of the nurse leader in implementing innovative care models.
Development of workplaces that empower nurses and other health care practitioners to advance new and innovative ideas is another role of the nurse leaders in executing innovative care models. The current health care industry is characterized by increased competition in which the organizations compete for the scarce health care funding (Snow, 2019).
As such, creation of new and better products and services offers an organization the necessary competitive advantage (Snow, 2019). For this reason, nurse leaders should educate and empower nurses on the importance of innovation to the organization.
The innovative modes of care have positive impact on the collaboration between advanced registered nurses and other stakeholders in the industry. In order to be successful in implementing innovative care models, nurse leaders should realize the importance of building mutually beneficial partnerships with both internal and external collaborators to ensure that the change initiative is not solely nursing driven (Morjikian et al., 2007).
Therefore, the innovative care models are improving collaborations amongst the various professionals and stakeholders in the health care industry.

it is true that nurse leaders in health care organizations are expected to influence the quality and outcome improvement. Therefore, healthcare facilities ensure that nurse leaders are capacitated to meet set expectations. However, some nurse leaders are incompetent to lead their facilities to achieve the desired outcomes.
Health care organizations make sure that they hire the right people to lead. Nurse leaders are involved in designing and implementing new and modern care delivery models (Yang et al., 2019). These leaders work in unison with other healthcare workers. Staff engagement allows nurse leaders to listen and incorporate different vibrant ideas in implementing innovative care models.
The collaboration between registered nurses and clinical nurse leaders plays an important role in improving the accuracy of the implementation process (Afsar & Umrani, 2020). Development of workplaces that empower nurses and other health care practitioners to advance new and innovative ideas is another role of the nurse leaders in executing innovative care models. Positive rapport at workplace facilitates smooth implementation of innovative care models.
