Dementia analysis: The purpose of this paper is to provide students the opportunity to comprehensively analyze a specific psychiatric diagnostic entity and associated treatment options. 591/691 papers should focus on adult patients and 592/692 should focus on pediatric or geriatric clients.
To accomplish this, the student will choose a topic (from those covered this
semester) with approval from course instructors and write a formal paper that includes:
Introduction:
Include statement of the topic/diagnosis, historical perspective, and other pertinent introductory information. A case study should be included.
Body:
Review the diagnostic criteria and what other things might typically be included when considering differential diagnosis with these symptoms.
Discuss neurobiological and other influences.
Thorough discussion of treatment options and guidelines.
Important cultural issues from dementia analysis articles
Discuss recent research applicable to some aspect of the disorder or treatment of the disorder.
Examine different views/perspectives/controversies related to topic.
Present topic in a well organized and comprehensive manner
Conclusion:
Summarize findings for dementia analysis article (you may include any personal experiences with the disorder if you wish)
Identify issues for APRN practice.
Identify areas, within topic where future development and research are needed.
Form:
